Focus. I created this illustration as a reminder to be aware of the things that matter: creating artwork, a morning cup of coffee, a plant asking for reverence, full presence with a friend, fresh snow on a February morning.
“Focus” is my word for 2020. At first I was resistant, thinking this word meant rigidity. However, I’ve quickly come to find that focus is really about cracking open to the beauty of each moment, the gift of every seemingly mundane minute. This openness is vulnerable, yes, but what is it to be human without opening ourselves up to this vulnerability?
I hope this print lives in your home as a reminder to fall in love with the magic that awaits us each day.
